A synthetic peptide related to thymosin beta-4. Material supplied under this name is most commonly the seven-residue active fragment rather than the full-length 43-residue protein, and the two differ by roughly a factor of five in molecular weight. Check the certificate for the lot to confirm which form a given vial holds before preparing working solutions.

Lyophilized powder. The sealed vial is stable at room temperature during transit and can be held in a cool, dry, dark place for short periods. For anything beyond short-term holding, store it refrigerated at 36 to 46°F (2 to 8°C), or frozen at minus 4°F (minus 20°C) or below for long-term storage. Keep it away from light, moisture and heat. Lyophilized material is stable for the period stated on the certificate for the lot.

After reconstitution. Refrigerate at 36 to 46°F (2 to 8°C) and use within the window appropriate to the receiving laboratory's protocol. Do not leave reconstituted material at room temperature, and avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles, which degrade peptide material. Handling and any further storage conditions are the responsibility of the receiving laboratory.
