A synthetic nine-residue peptide, Ac-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro-Ala-Gly, acetylated at the N-terminus with a free acid C-terminus. It is built on the Semax backbone, itself a fragment of the ACTH sequence, extended by two residues. Despite the name, the 984 Da form does not carry the adamantane group that the 1032 Da form does, so the two are distinct compounds and a certificate stating one does not describe the other. Supplied as a lyophilized powder.

Lyophilized powder. The sealed vial is stable at room temperature during transit and can be held in a cool, dry, dark place for short periods. For anything beyond short-term holding, store it refrigerated at 36 to 46°F (2 to 8°C), or frozen at minus 4°F (minus 20°C) or below for long-term storage. Keep it away from light, moisture and heat. Lyophilized material is stable for the period stated on the certificate for the lot.
After reconstitution. Refrigerate at 36 to 46°F (2 to 8°C) and use within the window appropriate to the receiving laboratory's protocol. Do not leave reconstituted material at room temperature, and avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles, which degrade peptide material. Handling and any further storage conditions are the responsibility of the receiving laboratory.
